Strategic collaboration signed at VivaTech 2026 aims to strengthen executive education, AI research, student development, and industry-academia engagement in the UAE
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) and Open Innovation AI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in artificial intelligence education, research, executive learning, and innovation. The agreement was formalized during VivaTech 2026 in Paris, marking a significant step toward strengthening the UAE’s AI ecosystem through academic and industry partnerships.
The MoU establishes a framework for joint initiatives, including the development of executive education programs, co-branded workshops, collaborative research projects, and enhanced student learning opportunities. It also opens pathways for internships and provides students access to selected Open Innovation AI technologies, including OI Chat, OICM, and GPU accelerator platforms for educational and research purposes.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and real-world industry requirements as organizations increasingly seek AI-ready talent and practical innovation capabilities.
Professor Nathalie Martial-Braz, Chancellor of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, said the collaboration reinforces the university’s commitment to promoting responsible AI adoption and strengthening knowledge exchange between academia and industry. She noted that the initiative will help equip students with practical skills and ethical understanding needed to harness AI for innovation and societal progress.
“Our collaboration with Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi brings together academic excellence and sovereign AI innovation to prepare the next generation of AI leaders, researchers, and innovators.”
