New technologies, live demos, and AI-enabled workflows highlight the future of high-impact print and packaging solutions
Canon demonstrated the transformative potential of print at FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona, unveiling its latest large-format printing technologies and immersive on-stand experiences under the theme “Move your World.” The showcase highlights how advanced print solutions can deliver commercial value, creative flexibility, and operational efficiency for print service providers (PSPs) across industries.
At the center of Canon’s presentation was the European debut of the Colorado XL-series 3.4m printer, showcasing high-speed hybrid printing capabilities for both rigid and flexible media. Live demonstrations illustrated the system’s versatility across applications such as signage, interior décor, packaging, and point-of-sale materials. Powered by Canon’s UVgel technology, the system delivers high productivity up to 211 m² per hour while supporting a wide range of substrates including vinyl, foam board, textiles, and composite panels.
“Print has the power to transform spaces and campaigns, delivering real business impact and long-term growth opportunities.”
— Shadi Bakhour, B2B Business Unit Director, Canon Middle East
Visitors also experienced Canon’s sensory gallery, featuring tactile print applications created using Arizona flatbed, Colorado roll-to-roll, and imagePROGRAF printers. These installations emphasized the role of print in creating immersive, multi-sensory brand experiences that go beyond traditional graphics.
Canon further highlighted its ecosystem-driven approach, collaborating with partners such as Fotoba and Neolt to demonstrate automated, scalable production systems for applications like custom wallpapers and poster printing. These solutions reflect growing global demand for mass customisation and short-run packaging, enabling PSPs to deliver personalized output efficiently.
Supporting the hardware innovations is Canon’s PRISMA XL workflow suite, which integrates file preparation, production, and delivery into a unified platform. The open architecture, along with integrations from software partners like Onyx and OneVision, allows businesses to streamline operations while improving accuracy and turnaround times.
Shadi Bakhour, B2B Business Unit Director at Canon Middle East, noted that the showcase is designed to help customers explore new commercial opportunities and futureproof their operations. He emphasized that by combining advanced hardware, workflow solutions, and partner ecosystems, Canon is enabling PSPs to unlock new growth avenues in the evolving print landscape.
Canon also extended its presence into corrugated packaging at the co-located Corrugated 2026 exhibition, showcasing its digital press technologies and solutions for industrial-scale packaging production.
With innovation spanning hardware, software, and AI-driven workflows, Canon’s presence at FESPA 2026 reinforces the growing importance of high-impact, technology-driven print solutions in driving business growth and creative transformation.
