AmiViz, a leading cybersecurity and AI-focused value-added distributor in the Middle East, has announced the appointment of Ramkumar Balakrishnan as its new Chief Executive Officer, signaling a strategic shift toward accelerated growth and regional expansion.

Balakrishnan’s appointment marks a key milestone in AmiViz’s evolution as it seeks to transform into a services-led, consultative technology organization. The company is expanding its focus beyond cybersecurity into emerging domains including Agentic AI, digital infrastructure, data resilience, and hybrid cloud, aligning with rising enterprise demand across the Middle East and Africa.

With over 25 years of leadership experience spanning India, the Middle East, Africa, and EMEA, Balakrishnan brings strong regional expertise and deep knowledge of partner ecosystems. He has held senior roles at global technology giants such as IBM, Redington Gulf, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he most recently led channel operations across the EMEA region.

“AmiViz is entering one of the most exciting chapters in its journey. The region is undergoing a profound shift driven by cloud, data intelligence and the rise of Agentic AI,” said Ramkumar Balakrishnan.

During his tenure at Redington Gulf, Balakrishnan played a pivotal role in building and scaling the company’s value-added distribution business. He also successfully onboarded more than 70 global technology vendors and introduced digital delivery models that transformed partner engagement and accelerated cloud adoption across multiple markets.

At AWS, he further strengthened his reputation as a business builder by driving partner-led growth strategies, expanding ecosystem capabilities, and supporting large-scale cloud adoption initiatives across enterprises.

AmiViz’s leadership transition comes at a time of rapid technological change in the region, as organizations increasingly invest in sovereign cloud, data governance, and AI-driven innovation. The company is reinforcing its footprint in the Middle East while preparing to expand into Africa in 2026.

To support this ambition, AmiViz is investing in talent development, enhancing regional capabilities, and launching a new AI Centre of Excellence in the UAE. These initiatives aim to position the company as a hub for advanced technology enablement and partner-driven innovation.

With Balakrishnan at the helm, AmiViz is set to embark on a new phase defined by innovation, ecosystem expansion, and a sharper focus on delivering long-term value to partners and customers in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
