Westcon‑Comstor Expands Global Cloud Marketplace Capabilities Through Microsoft REO

Westcon‑Comstor

Westcon‑Comstor has announced its global participation in Microsoft’s Marketplace resale enabled offers (REO) programme, strengthening its cloud marketplace capabilities and enabling channel partners and vendors to accelerate marketplace‑led growth at scale.

The Microsoft REO programme is designed to support channel‑led selling, allowing software vendors to authorise approved partners to create and manage private offers via Microsoft Marketplace, while Microsoft handles billing and payments. Westcon‑Comstor builds on this foundation by adding a comprehensive suite of value‑added services, including partner enablement, incremental revenue tools, and lifecycle support covering renewals and ongoing customer management.

By combining Microsoft Marketplace access with its technical expertise and services, Westcon‑Comstor helps partners unlock cloud commit budgets, increase deal velocity, and expand customer spend while retaining control of customer relationships and the ability to layer additional services.

“By wrapping Microsoft Marketplace with our value‑added services and deep technical expertise, we’re turning marketplace participation into scalable, repeatable growth for our partners worldwide.”

The distributor is already supporting partners in Microsoft Marketplace‑led opportunities with leading cybersecurity vendors such as Palo Alto Networks and Infoblox, demonstrating tangible results from its distributor‑led REO approach. Discussions are also underway with additional vendors regarding future collaboration through the programme.

The move comes amid rapid growth in cloud marketplace adoption. According to Omdia, cloud marketplace software sales are forecast to rise from US$30 billion in 2024 to US$163 billion by 2030, with partners expected to drive the majority of marketplace spend and generate significant services revenue alongside software sales.

Peter Woest, Cloud Marketplace Partnership Director at Westcon‑Comstor, said the company is focused on turning marketplace activity into repeatable, scalable business by combining hyperscaler reach with practical expertise. Microsoft echoed this view, highlighting Westcon‑Comstor’s role in helping partners build platform‑first marketplace practices while keeping the channel central to customer relationships.

Westcon‑Comstor’s Microsoft REO support follows the launch of its AWS Marketplace programme in 2024, marking a broader expansion of its hyperscaler marketplace strategy worldwide.
