Acronis Launches GenAI Protection to Secure AI Adoption for MSPs

New solution offers visibility, control, and protection against AI-driven risks across client environments

Acronis has announced the launch of Acronis GenAI Protection, a new solution designed to help managed service providers (MSPs) monitor, secure, and govern the use of generative AI across customer environments.

As enterprises and SMBs accelerate adoption of generative AI tools, concerns around data leakage, shadow AI usage, and prompt manipulation are increasing. Acronis GenAI Protection aims to address these risks by providing MSPs with centralized visibility and control over AI interactions, enabling them to secure deployments without adding complexity.

The solution is integrated into the Acronis platform and allows MSPs to manage AI usage through a single console. This includes enforcing policies, monitoring activity, generating reports, and mitigating risks across endpoints, applications, and data environments.

Key capabilities include visibility into shadow AI applications, inspection of prompts to prevent exposure of sensitive data such as personal or health information, and detection of malicious prompt injections designed to manipulate AI systems. The platform is built to help MSPs deliver AI security as a managed service while supporting compliance and governance requirements.

Industry analysts note that while AI adoption is rapidly becoming mainstream particularly among SMBs security and oversight challenges are also growing. The increasing use of both enterprise and consumer AI tools is creating new demands for MSPs to actively manage and secure these environments.

Acronis said the launch marks the first phase of its broader Cyber Workspace vision, with additional capabilities planned to further integrate AI protection, automation, and management within a unified platform.

With GenAI Protection now generally available, the company aims to equip MSPs with the tools needed to safely scale AI adoption while protecting against emerging threats in an increasingly AI-driven digital landscape.
