Ankabut Offers UAE Institutions Free Access to WeVideo to Boost Learning Continuity

Ankabut

Ankabut, the national education and research network of the UAE, has announced that it is providing all educational institutions across the country with complimentary access to WeVideo’s interactive video learning platform until 31 May 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen digital readiness, support flexible teaching models, and ensure that schools and universities can seamlessly transition to remote learning if required.

WeVideo’s cloud-based platform enables educators to create interactive lesson videos, assessments, announcements, and multimedia assignments, while students can view ad‑free content and submit video-based projects in a secure environment. The solution is designed to simplify digital teaching workflows and enhance student engagement across classrooms and virtual learning setups.

Tarek Jundi, CEO of Ankabut, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to building agile and resilient learning systems across the country. “We understand that transitioning to remote learning requires not just functional, but engaging methods. That’s why we are working towards meeting the educational and technological needs of the moment. We are pleased to extend our support to the educational institutions in the UAE through Ankabut’s robust national infrastructure and delivery,” he noted.

To ensure that students’ academic progress continues without disruption, educators need tools that allow them to adapt quickly to remote learning environments,”

Institutions can immediately obtain licenses through a dedicated Ankabut landing page, allowing teachers and students to begin using the platform with minimal setup. Quick-start guides and support materials are also available to help educators integrate video-based learning into their daily instruction.

WeVideo CEO Kevin Knight highlighted the importance of interactive video in modern education, saying the collaboration will help schools move beyond passive video viewing. With features such as video creation, editing, interactive assessments, and ready-made templates, the platform enables teachers to design dynamic assignments while giving students opportunities to express their understanding creatively.

The service also supports asynchronous learning, enabling students to access lessons at their own pace on any device. As a fully online platform requiring no downloads, WeVideo meets international privacy standards, including COPPA and FERPA.
