Ankabut and WeVideo

Collaboration aims to accelerate digital creativity, classroom engagement and 21st‑century skills across the UAE and wider GCC education ecosystem

Ankabut, the UAE’s national education and research network, has entered into a strategic partnership with WeVideo, a leading global cloud‑based video learning platform, to advance digital creativity and video‑based learning across the UAE and the broader GCC region. Announced on January 19, 2026, the collaboration aligns with the UAE’s national ambition to embed innovation, digital excellence and future‑ready skills into its education systems.

Under the agreement, Ankabut will integrate WeVideo into its expanding portfolio of advanced edtech solutions, giving universities, K–12 schools and workforce‑development institutions access to intuitive tools for interactive content creation, digital storytelling and collaborative video‑based learning.

“Integrating WeVideo into our ecosystem addresses the rising demand for active, video‑based learning tools and strengthens our support for the UAE’s knowledge‑based economy.”

— Tarek Jundi, CEO, Ankabut

The initiative directly supports national priorities such as the UAE’s National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, which emphasises future skills, innovation‑led curricula and digitally enriched learning environments. By offering a platform that enables students to create, edit and collaborate on video content, Ankabut aims to enhance engagement, creativity and digital fluency — skills increasingly essential in an AI‑driven global economy.

Tarek Jundi, CEO of Ankabut, said the partnership represents a major step in supporting national education strategies. “This agreement strengthens our service offering and ensures our member institutions remain at the forefront of global educational innovation,” he said.

For WeVideo, the partnership marks a significant expansion into the GCC. CEO Kevin Knight said Ankabut’s regional relationships and technical expertise will ensure strong adoption. “WeVideo will empower thousands of educators and students to demonstrate learning in more dynamic, expressive ways,” he added.

As part of the Framework Agreement, Ankabut becomes WeVideo’s primary go‑to‑market partner in the GCC, ensuring seamless integration into national digital learning initiatives. With Ankabut’s regional network infrastructure and WeVideo’s award‑winning platform, the collaboration aims to make classrooms more interactive, personalised and creative — while further establishing the GCC as a global leader in technology‑driven education.
