Dubai event introduces a Global Readiness Summit and live crisis simulation, bringing cybersecurity, physical security, emergency response and national preparedness into one integrated platform.
Intersec Global 2027 is adopting a new five-domain structure to reflect the growing convergence of physical, digital and operational threats, positioning its next edition as a platform for governments, enterprises and security providers to address interconnected risks.
The 28th edition will take place from 12–14 January 2027 at Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East and supported by the General Command of Dubai Civil Defense and the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), the event will be anchored by the inaugural Global Readiness Summit.
The revised structure moves beyond traditional product-based exhibition categories, organising the event around five specialist domains: National Security & Law Enforcement, Cybersecurity & Resilience, Surveillance & Physical Security, Fire, Rescue & Emergency Response, and Safety & Wellbeing.
The shift reflects how threats increasingly cross organisational and technological boundaries. Cyberattacks can disrupt critical infrastructure, physical incidents can trigger digital and operational failures, while emergency response increasingly depends on connected intelligence, automation and inter-agency coordination.
According to a market outlook report commissioned by Intersec Global, the global security and safety market is projected to grow by US$1.48 trillion by 2030, underlining the scale of investment and transformation taking place across the sector.
“Our new interconnected domain model reflects the way risks cascade across physical and digital environments. By bringing public-sector authorities together with innovators, Intersec Global provides the environment to turn shared challenges into stronger operational readiness.”
— Dishan Isaac, Show Director, Intersec Global, Messe Frankfurt Middle East
The new architecture will connect national security and law enforcement with digital policing, intelligence and border protection, while the fire and emergency response domain will focus on predictive life safety, advanced suppression and civil defence preparedness. Surveillance and physical security will highlight AI analytics, sensor fusion and smart infrastructure, while cybersecurity will address critical infrastructure, operational technology and digital trust. Safety and wellbeing will extend beyond compliance towards workforce resilience and technology-enabled health and safety.
H.E. Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief, General Command of Dubai Civil Defense, said the new domain would provide a platform for civil protection leaders to benchmark emergency response protocols and advance predictive, intelligence-led approaches to fire suppression and rescue.
The programme will feature more than 1,000 exhibitors, over 200 industry speakers, 14-plus conferences and features, and participation from more than 150 countries. Italy will join as Country Partner for the first time, bringing a 12-company national pavilion spanning 240 square metres.
Two major additions will shape the 2027 programme. The Global Readiness Summit will bring together governments, critical infrastructure operators and industry leaders to discuss national preparedness, secure mobility, AI and cyber-physical convergence, emergency response and future capabilities.
Meanwhile, Code Zero: Gridlock will simulate a city-wide crisis involving simultaneous cyber disruption and physical threats to infrastructure, transport and municipal networks. The live scenario will demonstrate how integrated command systems, automated response protocols and inter-agency coordination can help manage cascading incidents.
Nathan Waugh, Portfolio Director, Security, Technology and Production, Messe Frankfurt Middle East, said the event aims to move beyond technology showcases towards strategic intelligence, capability development and international collaboration.
With its new structure, Intersec Global is seeking to connect the entire protection ecosystem—from national authorities and critical infrastructure operators to enterprises and technology innovators—around a common priority: building readiness and resilience against increasingly interconnected threats.
